as a national resource for molecular biology information, NCBI creates
public databases, conducts research in computational biology, develops
software tools for analyzing genome data, and disseminates biomedical
information - all for the better understanding of molecular processes
affecting human health and disease.

dissemination service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive
and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). The NIDDK is part of the National Institutes
of Health (NIH), which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services.

Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign for diabetes.
It is celebrated each year on 14 November. The campaign is led by the
International Diabetes Federation. In 2007, World Diabetes Day became
an official United Nations world day, following the passage of the United
Nations World Diabetes Day Resolution in December 2006.
-WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the
United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on
global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms
and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing
technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
